Outreach Efforts
Hmong Ministry Update
Pastor Lor continues to teach class at the Schuh Homes Sunday school as well as host Saturday open gym at Immanuel Lutheran School for area teens (6-10 attend).
The Hmong Outreach Board is considering asking Hmong residents to give a cultural presentation in the middle of August. This is an attempt to build relationships with Asian people in our community.
Pastor Lor is a contact person for Hmong people who are hospitalized.
The radio contract will be extended for another six months. Pastor Lor gives a five minute devotion in the Hmong radio program aired Sunday mornings on WKTY. Anyone wishing to donate to radio outreach can call St. Paul’s church/school office.
CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THIS MINISTRY BY PRAYING FOR PASTOR LOR, HIS MINISTRY AND HIS FAMILY. PLEASE FORWARD ADDRESSES OF HMONG FAMILIES TO ST. PAUL'S CHURCH OFFICE.
Arcadia Update
Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, Arcadia began as an idea in the late 1990's with the desire to reach out with the good news of Jesus to more people in Trempealeau County. About a dozen members of Bethel in Galesville already lived in the ARcadia area and inquired about the possibility of starting a new congregation.
God's grace and blessing provided the needed resources. Several new people from the Arcadia area expressed interest in a WELS congregation in the area. A grant was secured for four students to canvass the area in the summer of 2001. A Bible study began in July 2001 and worship in December 2001. Pastor Nathan Strutz was called to serve exclusively at Bethel in 2002.
The Lord has continued to bless the congregation. Growth to 20, 40, 60 and now over 100
members has been realized. Many new members have come as the result of a friend sharing the good news of Jesus with another friend.
The congregation was also blessed to build a permanent facility to the glory of God. Planning began in earnest in 2005 and the facility was completed with the help of many volunteers, including Builders for Christ who assisted in the summer of 2007. Numerous special gifts were also received, most notably from the Antioch foundation and an anonymous donor who contributed a combined total of over $1 million. The facility was dedicated in April 2008.
The congregation has also been blessed with vicars for several years who have assisted Pastor Strutz in bringing the good news to more precious souls. God continues to bless the
congregation and the congregation continues to carry on its mission to go and make disciples
of all nations.
Bethel's Arcadia campus is located at N29280 Loesel Lane, just off of Highway 93, one mile north of Kwik Trip. Our worship services are held on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday School are at 10:30 a.m.
Thanks again for your support of our ministry.
In Christ, Pastor Nathan Strutz
