  • Benjamin bain, principal

    Benjamin Bain serves as the principal at St Paul's Ev. Lutheran School. He is a graduate of Martin Luther College, where he earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Upon graduation, Mr. Bain served as principal and teacher of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran School in Red Wing, Minnesota. He has supervised more than 10 student teachers and has mentored both new teachers and new principals. Mr. Bain loves spending time with his family, and he especially treasures the times when they are able to make music together. Mr. Bain enjoys serving in the Coulee region with its beautiful hiking opportunities, active music scene, and access to Lutheran High School education for his children.

  • Betty Van LOON, Pre-K 3 YR OLD

    Mrs. Van Loon has been serving at St. Paul’s for 10 years. “It such an honor and privilege to be a child’s first teacher. I love to see the excitement on their faces when we sing “Jesus Loves Me” and hear them tell how Jesus blessed their day at school!” Mrs. Van Loon has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN. Over the years, she has taught 1st grade, kindergarten, Head Start, 4-K, and 3-K. She currently teaches 3-K and specials needs students with dyslexia and reading issues, and is the WELS Western WI Early Childhood District Coordinator. She’s blessed with a husband, 3 children, and 6 grandchildren. She enjoys flower gardening, going for walks, and watching the grandchildren’s sporting activities.

  • DANIELLE FETCENKO, PRE-K 4 YR OLD

    Mrs. Fetcenko serves as the four-year-old preschool teacher. She is a graduate of Martin Luther College and has served multiple congregations and schools over the course of seven years before being called to serve at St. Paul's. She spends her time hanging out with her husband, Joe, and enjoys watching hockey, biking, reading books, and using her voice to glorify her Lord.

  • Heide MUELLLER, KINDERGARTEN

    Mrs. Mueller serves as our kindergarten teacher. She is thankful to be a part of the St. Paul’s family and considers it both a blessing and privilege to serve her students and the families of St. Paul’s. Born and raised in the Chicago area, she has had experience teaching preschool, kindergarten first and second grades in Illinois prior to moving to Wisconsin. She has also served as teacher/director of Shepherd’s Flock Preschool in Onalaska and the 3-K, 4-K teacher at St. Paul’s before teaching kindergarten. She and her husband John have two grown sons. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities and family vacations.

  • Nicole krause, 1st grade

    Mrs. Krause serves as the first-grade teacher. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Martin Luther College in 2004 and again in 2019 with her Master's degree in Instruction. She has been blessed with the opportunities to serve her Lord in many different areas which include: 4K teacher, K/1 teacher, 7/8 grade teacher, VBS, youth group leader, and coaching. She is married to Shane Krause who is a pastor at St. Paul's. The Krause’s have 1 son and 2 daughters: Eli, Marlie, and Carsyn. Mrs. Krause enjoys watching and playing sports, reading, camping, and doing anything outdoors.

  • LINETTE FEHR, 2ND GRADE

    Mrs. Fehr has been learning and teaching at the second grade level since 2003. Over the years she has also been privileged to serve as a grades 2-4 teacher in southern Wisconsin, a K-4 teacher in northern Minnesota, as a preschool and special needs teacher here at St. Paul’s, and as an adjunct instructor at the undergraduate and graduate level for Viterbo University. Her passion is literacy instruction and she has a masters degree in Reading from UW-L. Mrs. Fehr and her husband, Lee, have four grown children and 7 grandchildren, and enjoy visiting family, camping, hiking, and anything outdoors at their rural home. Linnette also enjoys sewing and painting.

  • KATIE OLSON, 3RD GRADE

    Mrs. Olson is the third grade teacher at St. Paul's. She joined the St. Paul's teaching staff in 2019 as the part-time 8th grade teacher. After graduating from MLC in 2003, she served as a TA in inner-city Milwaukee for a year. During the next few years, she and her husband moved around a lot as he was studying to become a pastor. In 2006, they were assigned to New York City where they lived for 10 years. Katie stayed home to raise their 5 girls and is excited to be back in the classroom full-time now that her children are all in school. In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, playing piano, anything outdoors and hanging out with family.

  • andy wehausen, 4th grade

    Mr. Wehausen serves as fourth-grade teacher and technology coordinator for St. Paul’s. Andy graduated from Martin Luther College in 1997 and served for 21 years as the fifth and sixth-grade teacher and athletic director in Caledonia, MN. Mr. Wehausen was blessed with a call from St. Paul’s and has been serving here since 2018. He is married to Carrie (Luetke) and they have been blessed with two sons, Luke and Aaron. The Wehausens love to go on summer vacations and spend time with family and friends. He loves playing games and Legos with his sons, but still finds time to sit and relax with his coffee and a good book.

  • becky schiebel, 5th grade

    Mrs. Schiebel serves as our fifth grade teacher at St. Paul's. In addition to teaching, she is involved with coaching several sports during the school year. She is married to Matt and they have two children. The Schiebels love family vacations, sports, and hanging out with friends and family. Becky especially loves reading books and playing volleyball.

  • JOE FETCENKO, 6th GRADE

    Mr. Fetcenko serves as the sixth-grade teacher at St. Paul's. In addition to serving as the athletic director, Joe coaches multiple activities within our extracurricular programs. He is a 2010 graduate of Martin Luther College and has been teaching ever since. Before coming to St. Paul's, Joe previously served congregations in Michigan and the Twin Cities. His wife, Danielle, also serves as a teacher at St. Paul's. In his spare time, Joe loves cheering for his Detroit sports teams (through thick and thin!), watching Battlebots, and spending time with family.

  • jalena peterson, 7th grade

    Mrs. Peterson serves as our seventh Grade teacher at St. Paul’s. She has been involved in many areas, such as athletic director, coaching, and assisting with some technology. She graduated with a degree in Kinesiology – Exercise Management from UW-Eau Claire and her Physical Education License from Winona State University. She feels extremely blessed to have received an emergency call to teach at St. Paul’s in 2003. She is a wife and mother of three. She loves to read, exercise and spend time with her family.

  • corey paske, 8th grade

    Corey Paske is a recent Martin Luther College graduate, having graduated in May 2020 and received a Divine Call the same day to serve as the eighth grade teacher at St Paul’s. He is blessed to have married Erin in June 2020 and moved to the Onalaska area later that summer. Corey grew up on a farm outside of Arlington Wisconsin and is a graduate of Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. He is very excited to be a part of the faculty at St Paul’s and to participate in the Principal Training Program under Mr. Bain. Corey likes sports of all kinds, but basketball and football are some of his favorites.

  • wendy schibbelhut, Music

    Mrs. Schibbelhut splits her time between teaching eighth graders and serving as our church's worship coordinator. She has been involved in music all her life, and starting in high school began leading services on the organ and piano. Over the years, Wendy has been blessed to serve in many different ways: teacher of grades 1-4 in Niles, Illinois, English teacher at Nebraska Lutheran High School, Kids' Praise leader, 8th grade teacher at St. Paul's, choir director, women's Bible study leader, wife, and mother of four almost-grown children. She loves playing the piano, reading books, hiking our National Parks, and watching her kids' activities.

  • LORI EHLKE, ART & SCIENCE

    Mrs. Ehlke serves as our Art Teacher for grades 1-8 and teaches 1st grade Science. She graduated from Martin Luther College with a degree in Spanish Education in 2006 and also studied Art abroad in Florence, Italy. Before teaching at St. Paul's, Lori taught elementary grades at Risen Savior and Christ-St. Peter Lutheran Schools in Milwaukee, WI, Art in Las Vegas, NV, Art and Spanish at St. Paul's in Michigan, and Art and Spanish at Michigan Lutheran High School. She also works as an artist, author, and illustrator and enjoys teaching adult art classes as well. Lori is married to Pastor Ehlke and has two boys and twin girls. Their family enjoys being outside, traveling, and going on adventures.
