The arts

Science and Fine Arts

La Crosse Area Lutheran Schools work together to host both a Fall and a Spring Science and Fine Arts Fair. The Fall fair includes arts and crafts, math, chess, spelling, and vocals. The Spring fair includes forensics, science, social studies, piano, and instrumental performance. Visit the La Crosse Area Lutheran Schools website for further details.

School Plays

Each year there are opportunities for students to be involved in plays, musicals, or other entertainment events. Our early childhood children offer a production each Spring. Students in grades 1-4 and 5-8 rotate each school year. Lower grade productions are generally Spring performances, while upper grades generally host a Fall performance.

St. Paul's offers a variety of competitive and non-competitive athletic opportunities to our students. We are part of the LaCrosse Area Lutheran School Athletic Conference (LALSAC) which provides the following opportunities for athletes: In the fall, students in 5th-8th grades can participate in Cross Coutry, Volleyball, and Flag Football. Basketball is offered for 5th-8th graders and Cheer Squad for the 4th grade Girls. The spring season has Track for 5th-8th graders and Softball for 7th-8th graders.

St. Paul's also has a strength and conditioning program called "Circuit Training" for our 5th-8th grade students in the fall and spring seasons.

For more information on any of these programs, Visit the Athletics Home Page.

Lutheran Elementary School Band Program

Participation in the Lutheran Elementary School (LES) Band Program is a fun and rewarding experience. Besides learning how to play a musical instrument, students learn to perform in solo and group situations. In these groups they meet students from other Luther High School Association schools and are involved in making music with them. There are several concerts throughout the year and two parades at the end of the school year.

Students will have lessons with a Luther High School music instructor here at St. Paul’s. Group rehearsals will be at Luther High School. Those will take place on selected Fridays throughout the school year. Students are expected to be at those rehearsals as well as their weekly lessons. If your child cannot attend a rehearsal or performance, please contact the band director. Students will receive 30 lessons each year and each lesson will be 15 minutes in length. There will be several rehearsals to prepare for a fall concert and several rehearsals to prepare for our spring concerts and parades.

If you would like more information or have any questions, please contact Jonathan Witte at (608) 783-5435, ext. 1320 or wittjona@luther.k12.wi.us. More information can be found at http://lutherhigh.org/arts/les-band.

Piano

Private piano lessons are available during the school day. Contact the school office for the names and contact information for current piano teachers.

Choir

The St. Paul's Junior Choir exists to give students in grades 5-8 an opportunity to praise God with the gift of their voices. Throughout the year, we sing for church services, festivals at Luther High School, and for an occasional funeral. Junior Choir meets Wednesday afternoons for 30-40 minutes during the school day.

robotics

The St. Paul's Robotics program competes in events sponsored by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation. Team Members will use VEX IQ materials to build, code, and pilot a robot designed to solve a complex problem. Communication and collaboration skills sharpen as students work collaboratively with other teams to achieve the highest possible score. In its inaugural season, both St. Paul's teams successfully qualified for the State Championship!
