Frequently Asked Questions
Find the answers to questions you might have about Member Ministry at St. Paul's.
St. Paul’s has experienced significant growth in recent years. Member Ministry was introduced to strengthen connections among members, encourage active involvement, and provide clear expectations of missions.
The workshop offers an opportunity to explore your unique SHAPE (Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences) and discover how you can best contribute to St. Paul’s mission. Even if you already have a spiritual growth plan, this session deepens your understanding of your own uniqueness and illustrates how God has positioned you at St. Paul’s to complete the bigger picture we all form together.
The process begins with a Discovery Workshop, where you’ll learn the Biblical foundations of spiritual growth and explore your SHAPE—Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences—to understand how God designed you for His Kingdom. Through guided exercises, you will identify your unique SHAPE and discover how your actions connect to your purpose.
After the workshop, you will attend a Guide Session with a trained Discovery Guide. The Guide will help you to find opportunities at St. Paul’s and beyond that align with your gifts and passions. Together, you will create or refine your Faith in Action Plan, outlining practical steps for living out your mission.
Workshops are held monthly. If the listed times do not work for you, please reach out to Connie Gronholz at cgronholz@stpaulsonalaska.org to explore alternative options.
Each ministry has a clear Ministry Position Description (MPD) outlining expectations. Coordinators are trained to guide and support your spiritual growth.
If your chosen ministry isn’t the right fit, the Member Ministry Team will help you find a better match and welcomes feedback to continually improve how we can best serve members!
